Catholic Youth Organization Athletics (CYO)
All students enrolled in St. Theresa School and active members of the parish are eligible to participate in a variety of sports through the Oakland Diocese Catholic Youth Organization (CYO).
For our students, participation in CYO sports has many benefits. First and foremost, your child is engaged in physical activity with their friends. Players learn to be accountable to their teammates and the virtues of good sportsmanship. As they progress through the years, they form friendships with players at other schools. With just one class per grade, it is important to encourage your child to participate so we can field a team. These are not “club” teams. In CYO, everybody plays.
For parents, you get the thrill of cheering on your son or daughter. It is a great way to forge friendships not only with parents in your child’s class but with parents across grade levels. CYO sports also provide an opportunity to share your own athletic experience as a coach and log volunteer hours.
Registration for Cross Country occurs the first week of school. This is our largest team and mixes grade levels. A great way for your child to make new friends. Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball registration typically occurs in early September.
Cheering on our Titans brings our community together and builds school spirit. Go Titans!
